“As the school year comes to a close across Bernalillo County, I want to take a moment to congratulate all 2022 graduates and those who make learning possible, day after day: our dedicated educators. Tuesday, May 17, 2022, “Sen. Heinrich: We need Eric Olivas on the Bernalillo County Commission” by Team Eric

Senator Heinrich: We need Eric Olivas on the Bernalillo County Commission. He's a leader with real-life experience in business and job creation. He understands that we all do better when workers are paid a living wage with earned sick leave. Eric is committed to workers’ dignity, addressing climate change, and bringing a comprehensive perspective to public safety.

Monday May 9, 2022, ”An Oil & Gas PAC is now targeting Eric Olivas,” by Neri Holguin

“A PAC, heavily funded by oil and gas and real estate interests, is targeting forward-thinking Democrats—Democrats like Eric Olivas, who aren’t afraid to fight for social and economic policies to benefit working people, women, small businesses, and our environment. Prior to today’s news, this PAC, which has received $50K from Chevron and $10K from large local developers and their lobbyists, had not given this race their attention. It’s because of the issues Eric is raising and the change he’s proposing that we now know these negative attacks are coming.”

Thursday, May 5, 2022, “As the President of the Senate, I'm proud to endorse Eric Olivas,” by Mimi Stewart, Senate President Pro Tem

“We need champions who will uphold Democratic values each and every time and work to meet each challenge head on. We need someone who will address crime at its root by providing high quality, accessible behavioral health services and substance abuse treatment programs. We need someone who will stand on the side of labor, ensuring the county prioritizes unions over out-of-state private contractors. Eric Olivas is that leader. Bernalillo County is at a critical point and in need of innovators like Eric who can bring the change our communities need. I believe strongly in Eric’s leadership and vision and can’t wait to work with him as we increase collaboration between the State Legislature and Bernalillo County. I’m proud to be one of the first to endorse Eric and contribute to his campaign.”

Friday, April 29, 2022, “This just in,” by Eric Olivas

“The endorsements keep rolling in, and I couldn’t be more proud of my latest. I’ve been endorsed by the New Mexico Working Families Party. The Working Families Party advocates on behalf of all working class, middle class, and low-income New Mexicans, and I’m honored that they recognize my commitment to Bernalillo County’s working families.”

Saturday, April 23, 2022, “I’m endorsing Eric Olivas—and here’s why,” by City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn

“We face unique challenges with behavioral health, public safety, and infrastructure, and Albuquerque’s City Council needs a leader and a partner at the County who we can work with to collaboratively tackle these issues. That’s why I’ve endorsed Eric Olivas for Bernalillo County Commissioner, District 5.”

Friday, April 22, 2022, “On Earth Day, I’m celebrating this important endorsement,” by Eric Olivas, Democrat for County Commission, Dist. 5

“Today is Earth Day, which makes me proud to tell you about my endorsement from the Rio Grande Chapter of the Sierra Club. The impacts of climate change are all around us—in the scarcity of our water, climbing temperatures, and changes within our local plant and animal populations. We are in the midst of a climate crisis and the county government must act. While immediate global action is needed, we must act locally whenever and wherever we can.”

Wednesday, April 17, 2022, “Join us this Friday,” by Eric Olivas

City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn and Ralph Wrons are hosting a “Northeast Heights Neighbors for Eric Olivas” event, and we would love to see you there. We’ll be at the home of Ralph Wrons, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Friday, April 29.”

Thursday, April 14, 2022, “3 important campaign updates,” by Eric Olivas, Democrat for County Commission, Dist. 5

“As you probably know, candidate campaign finance reports were filed Monday. I raised over six times the amount of the Democratic incumbent in 1/6th time. I think this reflects two things: I am fighting hard for this seat, and two, people are investing in our campaign because of the change I represent. But, do you know who else is working hard? The Republican challenger running for this seat. He raised nearly the same amount I raised which means we will be facing a well-resourced threat from the right, whose leadership would move our community backward, not forward. We’re not in the General election yet, but we’re keeping our eye on our likely opponent.”

Thursday, April 7, 2022, "I’m honored to receive this endorsement,” by Eric Olivas, Democrat for County Commission, Dist. 5

“I’m honored to announce my most recent endorsement: Planned Parenthood Votes New Mexico. As reproductive healthcare in our country is under serious threat and neighboring states like Oklahoma and Texas are all but banning abortion and criminalizing women and healthcare professionals, it’s important New Mexico and Bernalillo County continue to stand tall for access to reproductive healthcare. Women deserve high quality reproductive healthcare and the right to make decisions about their bodies, free of interference. Support for that must come from every level of government.”

Monday, April 4, 2022, “Our first campaign test—will you contribute?” by Eric Olivas, Democrat for County Commission, Dist. 5

“Since announcing my candidacy for the Bernalillo County Commission just three weeks ago, our campaign has picked up strong support—from local elected leaders to labor unions to community organizations. I am pleased to report that the momentum keeps growing with new endorsements each day. Today is the important fundraising deadline of our campaign, where pundits and others will look at our first campaign finance report to assess the strength of our campaign.”

Saturday, April 2, 2022, “We’re supporting Eric Olivas for County Commission—we'll tell you why,” by Debbie O’Malley & Jim Collie, Bernalillo County Commissioners

“As current and former Bernalillo County Commissioners, we support Democrat Eric Olivas for District 5 in the June 7 Primary and encourage you to back him as well. We care about the future of our County, which is why Eric’s election is so critical. Currently, there are four Democrats on the County Commission, but more often than not, the votes on major issues have been 3-2, with Eric’s opponent siding with conservatives to stop forward-thinking bills from passing the Commission. We believe Eric brings the exact kind of experience and leadership that the County Commission needs. He’s a pro-worker entrepreneur who has started and grown a business in Albuquerque that pays a living wage and provides benefits like paid sick leave. He’s from the Northeast Heights, where he has served on local policing boards and is President of his neighborhood association. He’s thoughtful and brings ideas about how the city and county must do better addressing issues of crime, housing, homelessness, and behavioral health. We trust Eric will uphold working family values and will be a commissioner our community can depend on.”

Tuesday, March 29, 2022, “I’m so proud of my first labor endorsement!” by Eric Olivas, Democrat for Bernalillo County Commission, D5

“I am proud to have earned the endorsement of the New Mexico Building & Construction Trades Council, an alliance of 16 craft unions in New Mexico. Labor knows that I am running with a deep commitment to improve the lives of working men and women in Bernalillo County, and that as a County Commissioner, they can depend on me.”

Friday, March 18, 2022, “I'm Running For Bernalillo County Commission. Let Me Tell You Why” by Eric Olivas, Democrat for Bernalillo County Commission, D5

“As a Democrat, I stand for a set of core values and principles that I will always defend and will never trade for a vote or a campaign contribution. I am in this race to stand up for my hometown and the incredible community that is Bernalillo County. This community, in which I was raised, gave me my family, my business, and all of the opportunities I have in life.”
